Community Transformation Ministry (CTM) engages the miraculous power of the church, to transform poverty into prosperity; through the social enterprise capabilities of the church. CTM engages our church in collaborative nonprofit and for-profit endeavors to transform the communities around and beyond our church. This engagement results in a condition of shalom, that provides wholeness or wellness.

Co-Pastor Tony Pierce of Heaven’s View Christian Fellowship Church serves as Board Chair of Illinois People’s Action (IPA). In his position as Board Chair of IPA, he worked with IPA Executive Director Don Carlson, and the other members of IPA (plus others) to influence passage of new green energy legislation for the State of Illinois. Passed by the Illinois General Assembly in 2021, significantly through the efforts of the statewide Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition (ICJC) and Governor Pritzker’s office, the new energy legislation will govern how clean energy operates throughout the state of Illinois for the near-term and longer-term future. These new clean energy regulations, called the Climate & Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), will govern how solar energy operates throughout the state of Illinois. As such, they permit CTP-Power (CTP-Power.com), Sun Bright Energy (Sunbright-energy.com) and the other for-profit businesses (that are part of our social enterprise endeavor) to provide union-wage and living-wage jobs.

We do that, so that those jobs will grow middle-class communities and transform at-risk communities into healthy ones. Businesses birthed through these initiatives collaborate with our church’s nonprofit community service functions which provide training for those jobs. Those nonprofit functions include our Financial Opportunity Center and our Jobs Partnership program (jobspartnershippeoria.org), under the direction of Executive Director Cheryl Parks. We do this, so that those nonprofit functions and for-profit functions can work together to provide the pathway for the poor to move into the middle class. This pathway enables the poor to move into the middle-class, as they acquire the union-wage and living-wage middle-class jobs, provided by our social enterprise endeavors. Those jobs permit the individuals and families who receive them to purchase homes and cars, to acquire healthcare, and to send their children to greater educational opportunities. Thereby, they help them to achieve the American dream, which all families in our nation desire.

This all equates to Community Transformation Ministry (CTM). Through CTM we are “Transforming Poverty Into Prosperity For A Better World”; as is illustrated in the following 11 minute video that was produced for the use of IPA and us by The YEARS Project.
